I'm planning on removing the white spacer from my
carb this weekend. Thanks for the advice so far
Justin, I might neeed more info later if I run into
problems. Anyway, for all of you that have a clymer
manual, there is a diagram of the carb in chapter
seven on page 188. I don't see a spacer listed unless
it is called the spacer ring (#8) on the diagram. the
clymer manual I have is for 86-88 Savages. Did Suzuki
use the spacer in the earlier bikes? Maybe they were
mandated by the EPA in the 95-99 models only. Can
anyone help on this matter? I'll keep everyone posted
on how the procedure goes, how difficult it is, performance
gain, etc. Also, just for everyone's info, I just
hit 31K and the bike is still running fine, although
my belt needs replacement. I'm proof that the Savage is
capable of going over 30K without major engine work if
you change the oil regularly. I'm hoping to make
60K on this bike, as I need it for my long work
commute here in the Los Angeles area (120miles/5 days
a week.
